In our 2010 exchange to South Africa, we supplied and carried nine netbook computers, many books and other supplies to a needy school north of Cape Town. We received a warm and happy welcome from the children and staff. To make this possible we had raised funds, and received contributions from our members and others.
In the months that followed, the parents worked to make a secure computer room, which now has the benefit of internet access.
In 2012 we repeated our fund raising, and provided funds for further audio-visual equipment, shoes, heaters, a wheelchair for a disabled child, uniforms, chairs and educational toys.
From time to time we are able to talk to the principal, staff and children via Skype. This is a happy school. We feel that the children's educational opportunities and future outlook have been improved by our club's involvement.
Photos from our 2010 visit are on the photo page of this website.
